Hazel was so cute in her stroller as we prepared to walk up the 3/4 mile trail to Taughannock Falls above Cayuga Lake. There was something special in her eyes at that moment. It was an older wiser look. It was like she knew what was going on. Perhaps it was a spiritual moment. Then I had stroller duty following the wedding party up the trail.

I told Christie to think calm and I'd like to believe she was listening in the tense moment when we stopped at the bridge before Ricky and the others awaited our arrival. Sister in law Jennifer was a real comfort.

The service was conducted by Christie's long time best friend Ashley so it was special ceremony for everyone.

During the ceremony I noticed this poignant scene. Lucas and Hazel have a special cousin bond that I think will continue throughout their lives. He was anxious to bring out every toy at his home to show her.

The roaring fire at the reception back down hill at the State Park pavilion was so welcoming and needed after the cold and drizzle. It was a relaxed casual affair all around. Weather was intermittent but held off during the ceremony. The guy I spoke to at the deli the next morning said "The angels were so happy," feigning a cry. But he was so right on.

I use my own hastily snapped photos here. They aren't well planned or of the highest quality, after all I was a participant and tried to stay engaged in the moment. The hired photographer was very professional and congenial and has used the wedding photos at the centerpiece on her web site Smile Peace Love a tribute to her mother who passed away.
