ADK Adventure
indescribable beauty
Let me describe the Adirondacks: can't.
But you might notice that it looks appealing.
We had a great couple days kayaking in northern NY. Brother sick of seeing my bird pics so I put them within the folder.
The dry facts are we did a 6 mile meandering paddle in 4 hours launching from the Shelving Rock Area .
As we enter the Narrows from the east we have this view of the Tongue Mt range on the west side.
Tried to go to Good Luck Lake down the West Branch of Sacandaga River. It's usually a beautiful ride but water was so low and shallow it became a nightmare trying to navigate. We abandoned that effort.
Went to Oxbow Lake instead to calm ourselves and drink in the peace.
While doing my background research re-edited some of Misha's first swim photos from 2009.
We had planned a trip here before the recent tragedy where an 8 year old girl was killed by a reckless boater. Long story short: Drunken young rich yahoo attended Log Bay Day ridiculous party. (Log Bay a beautiful spot within our paddle.) Perpetrator piloted back in the dark in speed boat with 5 drunk friends, ran right over top of family of 7 in historic Mahogany wooden boat. Left scene of accident, they conspired to cover up- ditched at a random dock, called friend for pickup and dispersed the scene. What kind of people are they.
