very loony
The Olympic Ski Jump was resplendent with the fall colors and high peaks in the background on our way up north.
We stayed at the beautiful White Pines Camp, Longfellows cabin on Osgood Pond. Yes, they caught a murderer from Cohoes right down the street from our camp but we were undeterred.
Canoed out in search of Loons and we found them.
Here is a young one with mother at sunset. Soon they'll be migrating to perhaps Cape Cod or Florida. Weather was very warm in the 80's, surprise. Our goal this weekend was attending the Loon Festival at Paul Smiths.
The view in morning fog at our boat house.
Walked around this bog at the Paul Smith's Visitor Interpretive Center while we awaited the drawing for the Hornbeck carbon fiber canoe. No dice.
For dinner we drove down to Lake Clear. There's a free sandy Town Beach just right of center, pretty much un-marked. The 1892 House/ bar was the only open spot for miles around, but we were underwhelmed.
Cascade Lakes below Lake Placid are always photogenic.
