Variety

Spice of Life

Some more various variety events.

Cody the Lakota smoke dancer here was performing at the very popular Saratoga Native American Festival at the National Museum of Dance. Ndakinna Educational Center in Greenfield Center has been the main sponsor for this decade old program. Forgot my camera so I enhanced a still frame from Colleen's cell phone video. It was captivating. To me, this guy's performance was the most intense emotional interpretable performance I've ever seen.

Attended the Steampunk Festival briefly at the Enchanted City of Troy just for kicks. It's crazy town. Thousands attended the popular Troy Farmers Market as well right next door. You might call them eccentrics? They were definitely "in character".

The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center took part as well. They had several owls, kestrels, crows, ravens etc. hoping to get donations to support the cause.

Oh, did I mention all these events are free.

Colleen has been away on a two week Alaskan Adventure with friends. Too far for me but her photos captured some of the beauty. Alaska is so vast and if overlaid on the lower 48 would nearly span from coast to coast. Wrangell - St Elias National Park and  Denali National Park.

Lake George held their annual Adirondack Nationals Hot Rodding show so it was worth a little motorcycle trip up for a day along with a hike up Prospect Mountain. This was in the trailhead parking lot as I came back to my vehicle.
