Chapter 600

Vermont

great for day trips

Skiied many mountains in the northeast that I could get to. Most likely did this Haystack Mt for about $20 back then. Now the private Heritage Corp costs $80,000 plus annual fees (millions for condo) (foreclosure pending).

Went up to the top chair lift more than a mile and 1500 foot vertical but staying 400 foot from ground level. Nice little Haystack Pond had some geese.

Searsburg turbines on the right. Enron Power built for Green Mountain Power. Harriman Reservoir down the Deerfield River valley. Need to take the hiking trail up there 5mile round trip.

Largest lake confined within Vermont is Whitinham Lake / Harriman Reservoir south of Haystack Mountain.

Old defunct Hogback Mountain ski area turned into Vermont Distillery, Beer Naked Brewery, and gift shop - nature museum and trail head to back of Mt Olga. Got my delicious blueberry and raspberry liqueur there.

By the time I hit Woodford State Park the weather had socked in. The cabins our family rented are on the left (one green roof partly visible). Moose country.

I asked the guy launching paddle board at the Round Lake Anthony Kill dock if I could shoot from behind him. Said it was ok as long as I didn't cut him.

As he proceded down he  must have been getting annoyed with my drone buzzing so I took it up higher and quit.
