Chapter 121

I helped this businessman recently. A red personal vehicle is shown inserted in the upper right corner next to company CEO, Rodger. Recently I had to load a laptop with the software from a Florida website  http://www.daytona-twintec.com/  that allows for custom fuel injection and ignition timing for swine products. These are complicated computer modeling programs that retired state workers with appropriate background are equipped to handle; it’s not like turning a screwdriver or sticking a pin through a Mikuni carb jet. Here, at I88 Cycles we are attempting to replace the stock HD Delphi/Bosche ECU with a fully adjustable EEPROM on a 2006 twin cam 88 Roadking. Note the three dimensional rpm advance curves that we are calibrating. Below is one paragraph from the 50 pages of instructions for the software/firmware.

The Supreme Court (screaming) Eagle was a fitting compliment to this week’s theme as I made a brief stop at the State Justice Bldg to picked up a few public court briefs. Tilted because I had to surreptitiously shoot from the elevator between the 2 security guard stations.

At any given RPM and throttle position (TPS),

the corrected base injector pulse width is multiplied by

the values in the Alpha-N table (main fuel table), AFR

(air-fuel ratio) table (the AFR command), front cylinder trim table

(only for the front cylinder), and block learn multiplier

(BLM) tables. The BLM tables store closed loop

correction factors based on feedback from the WEGO

system (wide band dual channel exhaust gas oxygen sensor).

Independent BLM tables are used for front and

rear cylinders. The BLM tables are continually updated

whenever the system is operating in closed loop

(generally 30 seconds after engine start). The BLM

tables are updated based on the AFR error (difference

between AFR command and actual AFR read by the

WEGO system).
