checking off the to do list

We both have had this mountain on our bucket list for years. She since college days at Plattsburg State when they had student trips thre but she was always studying.

I since 2005 when I saw the mountain from my swap drives. Just never got back up there. It's an impressive hunk of rock.

The firetower overlooks Lake Champlain to the east with Burlington, Mount Mansfield and Camel's Hump in the distance where a B-24 crashed in 1944 killing 9 crewmen.

Took the drone off from the parking lot first, but couldn't get a good shot of the overall mountain.

It's "only" 3.5 mines 1300 foot vertical but it still kicked our butts, 4 hours with drone time.

Did a hand held launch out the window from the tower then landed at the base.

To the west you can also see Whiteface Mountain. There were just a handfull of hikers on this beautiful hiking day.

There are two trail parking areas. We took this steeper shorter Ranger route rather than the Observers Trail farter south.
