The votes came in with a landslide choice for the Eagle story. Did not get any new shots so I'm simply linking to my ongoing eagle folder. I was on the scene last summer when the young Osprey tried to unsuccessfully dive bomb and scare away this juvenile Bald Eagle. The juvenile had already learned to be on high alert and sense a threat in his surroundings.

While on stakeout for the Eagles I found this somewhat rare and beautiful Spotted Sandpiper last spring. Thought it was a baby since it was only about  2 to 3 inches tall. It was leading me in circles, then I saw her baby come running out. So cute and only about an inch high- moved so fast couldn't get a focus. Mother was employing homeland security tactics to distract me.

While scouting out a vantage point for the bike race this deer and her friend went to code red when they saw me. This one was drooling after eating so many apples from the Hicks Farm. Got a hundred shots by remaining still before they jumped across the road to retreat.

I simply have to document a bit of this Duathlon bike race as it passes right in front of the street I live on. The ghost bike is dedicated to David Ryan who was run over and killed by a jerky young guy speeding in his car. David was a young PHD physicist from Oxford doing MRI research. I'd met the close friend of David's who created the web site when he was among the group of GE Research guys I played hockey with a few years ago. I like biking but I don't like it on the highway. One has to be aware of the dangers in your surroundings. This cloudy dreary day gives me no energy.

Speaking of the power of the sun, had to sneak onto the forbidden Skidmore College property to photograph one of the largest Solar fields in New York State. Again an overcast day but probably the only time I'll go there.
