Merganser Mother and Chics

I bought this picture from Marion Bayly at her house on Lake Pleasant just up past the Bearhurst Camp (see Ch 139). It was just so outstanding I had to scan, used it at the end of my Fall Stream Video, and reproduced it here. Permission was granted to use it in this way. I thought this was like a Monet painting. What do you think?    maybe leave alone...

Marion was selling photos at a fair when I met her by chance in Speculator. They had previously lived in Voorheesville near Albany, and she just started shooting photographs a mere 4 years ago, jumping right into the digital world with a Cannon D5.  She certainly has a talent for this as you can see from the second photo I purchased Ch 188-B.

The originals are better and I did some editing in photoshop in tif but used the lower compression setting in jpg to save disk space at this web site.

Her Verizon DSL connection wouldn't even play the less demanding and lower resolution flash video files without balking.
