Chapter 98

Ch 98 LPGA                                                       Reading Greens- Reading Packages

“When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight” was the slogan that launched our FedEx a decade ago. This week’s paychecks were FedExed down from Syracuse but failed to arrive. The attempt to track them was embarrassingly futile so another batch was reissued. My suggestion that they be sent UPS, was not well received.

This week’s batch of new package handlers included Dylan (don’t call me Bob) Valequette. He told me this is his only job at the moment, having quit his caddy job on the National Tour helping Ladies Pro Golfer, Jill (the thrill) McGill earn $350,000 (top 40) this year ( http://www.jillmcgill.com/JillMcGillphotos.html ). He passed up going on the International Tour to Korea and China to be here in Altamont assisting me. Kinda like reading greens and choosing the appropriate club, but here we read the shipping label and choose the correct truck route. Dylan was on the golf team at Bern-Knox HS then went to USC. Has caddied for pros Jason Budha and Roger Tambellini but future is now a big question mark for him.

Jill and caddy are in center column. While surfing for female sports pix of Jill, I accidentally came across this one of pro tennis star Anna Kornikova and included it since it is swap-driver related. She did visit my Acura dealership when she played the Schenectady tennis tourney here. If you think I should stick to more pictures of smashed packages let me know.
