Rush Pond

decades in the making

For decades I've admired the sunset beauty of Rush Pond at 70mph down the Northway past Glens Falls. You can see the southbound lane past the pond. My shots are all sunrise, will have to do more future shots now that I know how to access the pond.

Hadn't even known the name of it till I googled it on All Trails. Finally got up before dawn to capture some of it via drone.

It's a flat 5 mile round trip on a nice gravel path created by the Town of Queensbury with multiple entry points.

I only walked a half mile to access the first connection with the pond where I could launch. At 32 degrees had to wear warm clothes. During photo editing I used some photo exposure merging with my bracketed exposure shots for the first time.

I'd like to drag my kayak on wheels down this path and get right out on the pond sometime. It's a nice time of year now without the bugs.

I used up all three of my batteries on this shoot trying for a variety of angles of this NYS Classified Regulated Freshwater Wetland.

This sphere mode was from four hundred feet high. At first my software looked like the Glens Falls airport was not going to allow my drone flight but I was actually just outside the authorization zone so it flew fine. Great Escape Six Flags Adventure Park top left.
