View the video above which is one of the best superhero videos made and they did a really good job with the narration.
Final Narration
In class, each student should have their finished edited superhero film in their iMovie timeline. Now each member in their group will take their computer and create voiceovers on each laptop. If a group member is absent or does not have their part ready, narrate everything you can and submit what is finished. Then later the missing Act group member should submit the the final film of all of them together.
When narrating , it is important to change and disguise your voice to make it sound appropriate to the character, creative, and funny. Feel free to make sound effects with your voice.
You do not have to match your voiceover with the lips unless it is a closeup shot of a person and the mouth is easily seen and it would look better to sync certain parts.
Make sure that all the narrations are about the same volume. If you scream, stand back a little and don't scream directly into the speaker on your Macbook. When recording make sure you watch your audio levels; they should all be about 75% full (green) and should not go into the maximum red bar. If they do, edit the sound by decreasing that part of the volume.
After you record you can enable it so you can see your audio in your iMovie timeline so you will know which clips you may need to edit. As you see in the example below, the first voice recording on the right hits peaks that are too high and should be edited to lower the volume.
Sound Effects
Make sure each group member inserts at least two downloaded sound effects and one short appropriate background music that fits well.
Credits
Make sure you have the correct credits and format with your bloopers and it is under five minutes in total run time. The bloopers do not count as part of the Act III time but the total film must still be under five minutes.
Export
When you are finished, export your Act film as large or higher to your YT channel and name it Superhero Project Act# by First & Last Name and place it in your dropbox and share it with your group members so your members have access to it. Copy the YT link, paste it into an email, and send right away to your Wordpress but post the YT link to the final project spreadsheet. After it is on YT, follow the directions to make comments on the video; required in order to receive a project grade.
The last step is for the group leader or the last person to finish editing their film to collect each Acts and combine them in iMovie and bring to class the final combined film exported as Large. It is important that you name the file in the following format:
Title of Your Film: A Superhero Film by Esther, June, & Jane
Done.
export it from iMovie straight to YT with the following settings:
Account Name: superherofilmproject
Password: I'll type in the password on your laptop
Title of Your Film: A Superhero Film by Esther, June, & Jane
Description: Type a one sentence summary of the film without giving away the ending
Tags: none
Make sure to make the video public
Export as Large or higher
After it is published, go to each person's Act on their Vimeo channel and copy their comment that shows the times for their requirements and past them in the description and post the YT link to the final project spreadsheet.
