Girl Portrait

Photo of a girl

    • The girl will need to be wearing something from the garb box/table to add creativity; definitely nothing that says YISS or something mundane. Also try and use a prop.
    • Use the girl posing techniques learned (e.g. curve, lines, & posture). She can either be standing up or sitting but still maintain the techniques.
    • There are fashion magazines in the classroom that you can check out that may give you creative pose ideas.
    • Take the photo vertical (portrait) showing head-to-toe pose and try a couple different angles of the same pose to give you options
    • Focus the red focus dot in the viewfinder on the girl's face so it is in focus, press half way on the button until it focuses, then shift the camera to the right or left so that the girl position is on one thirds vertical of the photograph as best as possible and white space taking up the other two thirds. You do not need a focal point rule of third.
    • Have the photo overexposed so that the background is white and the overall photo is lighter and there is a little contrast (light shadow) on the face.
    • Shoot the pose from a couple different angles but do not have the subject look at the camera like the image below.
