Aperture Photos

Aperture

Objective: to make the subject in focus on a rule of third point and the background blurry using a low aperture f-stop number

Using your phone's camera or another camera, you will want to focus your camera on the subject on the rule of third point. You may want to auto lock the focus of your phone or place the subject in the middle of the frame and press the button half way so that it focuses, then realign the camera so that it shows focal point rule of thirds. The background depth of field must be either mid or deep.

You will usually need to be close to the subject if you want the background to be blurry. If you can control your aperture on your camera, choose the lowest number f-stop aperture number it allows. You will need to remember what you learned from the aperture page & bokeh.

Below are some good examples except for the last example. In the first example, the subject is in the back and the blur is in the foreground. Or like the rest of the examples, you can have the subject at the front and background behind the subject in blur.
