Cover Photo

Using your plans from the Idea checkpoint, take your photo of your model in the computer lab using the studio lights. Apply the photography concepts you learned last semester, especially the lighting principals. Be sure you have an idea of your layout and where your title of the magazine will go and how big. Remember, you will create a new appropriate magazine title so make sure you leave room on the image.

When you photography, make sure they wear clothes that coordinate with your magazine's genre.

Take at least three different poses of the person and they should be taken in portrait since the magazine is portrait, not landscape.

Choose the photo that you want to use and open it in Photoshop and edit the photo to improve the appearance (e.g. lighting, contrast, clone/pattern tool, coloring, etc). Then save the photo as a JPG full quality and import it into your A4 AI magazine layout file. Take a screenshot of the image in Illustrator and also upload your three photo poses to Posterous and the link to the spreadsheet.
