Plan
In your short film you will use three "Master Shots" filming techniques in your short film. Past CA students spent a lot of time creating tutorials for future students to be able to understand Hollywood-style types of shooting. You will use three Master Clips' filming techniques from one or more of the following categories that you think would work well for your storyline. mastershots.mouseflip.com **
List the Master Shots that you are planning on using for your film and type them according to the format below and write step by step directions on how you will film it with your group (indicate the specific filming locations and mention your actor names to be specific and make sure you explain and meet the Master Shot requirements in your directions; have at least four directions for each Master Shot).
Chasing Scene
Travel with the Subject & Long Lens Pan
(Master Shots that are combined on the spreadsheet count as one)
I will ch
eck these again in class and you must have it finished before your group continues filming next class.
When you are finished, email the post to Posterous and the link to the spreadsheet. Also, copy the text you wrote and paste it into your group doc you already created and put it right before the start of your script.
The group leader should complete the following and when finished, print the doc that includes the location info:
On the group superhero film doc, list all the locations that you will film at the very end of the doc on a new page. Order them by the locations that have the most scenes first. Then write the Acts that each of the locations include. Finally, write the dates that you plan to film (Day 1 (4/23), Day 2 (4/25), Day 3 ( 4/27), Day 4 (5/2), Day 5 (5/4) etc...these dates are for CA1 & CA2.
If a student is absent and misses class, your group must make up the time to film outside of class but this is the only time and circumstances your group can meet outside of class.
Use the following format and make sure to include your green screen scenes.
The previous directions said three master shot categories per Act and two specific master shot categories which would be six total Master Shots per Act although I wanted to make it easier for you guys so I reduce it to one specific master shot for each of the three categories per Act...which means you will be filming three specific Master Shots instead of six.
There are nine Master Shot categories and your group has to sign up and have at least one Master Shot from each of the nine categories...three in each Act which will equal the nine total. When you sign up, do not use the second column on the spreadsheet unless all the Master Shots are taken in the first column (if you signed up for two in the same category, I deleted
New Reduced Requirements
Choice A (do two Master Shots) again, this choice is easier and recommended
Sign up again for one Master Shot and dismiss any previous sign ups you made although you can sign up for the same Master Shot you previously chose if it is available. You can choose any Master Shot which is in any category on this spreadsheet except one that your teammate completed before. The second Master Shot you will create is your own that you did earlier this quarter. Then the total Master Shots you will do for your Act is two instead of six. Then complete your Plan below.
or
Choice B (do three Master Shots)
The previous checkpoint directions, each Act needs to have three categories and two Master Shots per category. Previous sign-up spreadsheets:
