Club Rebranding

Directions

View the different YISS clubs and descriptions. Then choose a current YISS club that you are or are not in or a club that you would like to create. The point is that you choose a club that has an area that you are interested in as you will be looking to brand or rebrand the image of that club. The key is to think different. Men and women who think with a creative mind are the ones who change the world.

Watch the video on Quicksilver and how they are trying to redefine themselves.

While taking notes, watch this video as it goes through 5 logo rebranding stories.

Watch the video on minimalism logos while taking notes since you will be creating a new logo.

Now to get some logo variation ideas, scan through a couple logo contests and notice the different styles of logos submitted for rebranding. Take a screenshot of eight logo variations from the same contest like the example below.

Sketch

Now you will think of some ideas for a new club logo redesign.

    1. For your color scheme, go back and review color theory and what colors represent. Make sure to choose colors that you want to portray to the minds of people when they see it. Be prepared to explain why you chose your colors.
    2. Go to Paletton to create your color scheme. Choose a 3-color scheme (e.g. triad, adjacent colors, or monochromatic) and take a screenshot of your color scheme. You can use black, white, and gray later to part of your logo if needed as these are not colors.
    1. Use the Sketch Doc Template to sketch your drawings using pencil. Make sure you sketch them rather big so you can take a photo of it and insert it into Illustrator later to trace or use as a reference.
  1. Now, take paper and sketch out at least 9 different designs.
  1. Sketch them with pencil and use shading when you sketch your logos.

Take a photo and submit to Schoology. Next class, Mr. Heil will give you feedback and approve your best logo idea and then you will create it in Illustrator.
