Directions

Today, start by tweeting only 1. Retweet (directions below) for this checkpoint.

1. Retweet
   1. After you log into your Me 2.0 Twitter, find a couple relevant twitter accounts who tweet on content related to your career (cannot be a classmate). Use the Twitter search box at the top right to search for key terms relating to your career. You may also want to search hash tags. Hover your mouse over one of their good tweets that is relative to your career and click "retweet." This will tweet the tweet to your account while giving reference to the other twitter account.
   2. Take a screenshot like the example below that shows your name, Me 2.0 name, & the retweet and post to Posterous and the spreadsheet. Make sure the email to Posterous has an appropriate subject heading (e.g. Me 2.0: Checkpoint # Twitter) and tag cpMe.
   3. Stop. You are now done with this checkpoint. Now over the next week, tweet the rest of the tweets below before the due date of checkpoint 10 on the calendar (you have at least ten days) although you may not tweet more than one tweet in one day, space them out. You do not have to post them to Posterous but they will checked and graded later on your Twitter account with the final project.

   1. Write a quality tweet for your Me 2.0 Twitter about an observation from something that is currently happening in your life that you can relate to your career. Hash one or two key words in your tweet (e.g. exited about #marketing the upcoming student council event). After you tweet, click on your hash word and follow a couple of people who are interesting, related, and appropriate.
   2. Go to your Me 2.0 Bloggger and make sure your tweet appears on the bottom since you should have embedded the gadget. The retweet will not show up on the blogger but it will on your twitter.com page.

   1. Write a tweet about something that is currently happening in your life that can relate directly or indirectly with your career and reference a classmate using @twitterName (e.g. @billybiz). Continue to add a hash to a key word in your tweet (e.g. #OldNavy). After you tweet, click on your hash word and follow someone who is interesting, related, and appropriate.
   2. Example: at school talking about #therapy with @psychiatristJen and just imagining where we would like to be working in 15 years

   1. In twitter, you can attach photos and show your location. Using your CA book in the first pages of your book after the pictures on the front, sketch a possible logo for your Me 2.0 name in color using no more than 5 min and take a photo of it with your camera or Macbook (make sure the text is not reverse).
   2. Go to twitter.com and log into your Me 2.0 name. Then in the top right you will see an icon of a pencil and paper, click it. Upload your logo to twitter and tweet/write a short comment describing the logo you created. At the end of the tweet write #melogo

1. Bit.ly
   1. Since twitter only allows a limited number of characters you will want to use www.bit.ly to shorten your long links. Click on your NetVibes link on your blog and read/scan over over one of the articles listed that looks interesting and somewhat relevant to your career field. If you did not do NetVibes yet, just find an interesting article related to your career. Write something interesting you learned about the article and copy the link and paste it into the "Paste a link here..." box at bit.ly and copy the new short link of the article and paste it into your tweet.
