Design Logo

Instructions

Think of a something that would be a good representation of your company. Go on the Internet and find an actual picture of it and take a screenshot of it. Keep in mind the two color choices you chose for your logo from a previous checkpoint.

Check out David Airey's logo draft examples and some creative finished logos and the symbols they use to represent their company.

Now, use that image to create a symbol icon that will be part of your logo to represent the essence of your business. Draw about 6 possible logos on one page spread (number them) that include the icon and business name. Make sure the logos are neat and organized on the page like the example below. You can change the font if needed. Use symbols or objects that would represent your identity.

Have a design student or one who already took computer apps make a comments on your CA book if you are in class or post it to Posterous and ask them to comment which one they like the best and explain why. Have them also say which one they like the least and why.

Insert your image of your logos into Illustrator A4 Portrait size and try to draw the symbol of your top logo choice. If it looks good...go with it. If not, try another one. Once you are satisfied with the symbol use the AI template and create these variations; number them according to the variation number. Take a screenshot of the symbol variations like the example below. This student finished these variations in 25 minutes; it does not have to be really fancy...these are just drafts.

Post to Posterous all the screenshots including the screenshot from your final company's name with its text font from dafont.com as well as the screenshot of the latest product that you created in AI.

Ask any two people to comment in Posterous on the variation logos and indicate which one they like the best for your company and why, before the due date, which one is the best.
