Pitch

This could be your last chance to pitch the idea you want to me. I will either tell you in class or leave a posterous comment. If it gets approved, you can keep going with your idea and getting more details. If it does not get approved, then you will need to complete an MV and sing/make your song:Music-Based Music Video [EAR: 90%) I really recommend this one. You can use lyrics from a popular song or create your own lyrics but you must create the music or have someone play the instruments and you put it together. You have to sing the song or you can ask someone else to sing it and be the producer. I have a USB keyboard that allows you to record the music directly to the keyboard and you can also record drums, guitar, etc. This is the easiest idea to get approved and can show a lot of originality to score points. ExampleThis is the best choice of all the film options to do because it allows your music to take the spotlight and pressure off of having a great plot structure.Copy the following to your email to send to posterous. If you have the same idea and info from your original idea/checkpoint because it was awesome, just copy and paste the info.Fill it out by writing only one or two brief phrases for each:Film InfoPossible Title describing the Film (e.g. The Great Cookie Blunder)Category: Short film, Documentary, or MV (music-based, choreography, plot-based, expressive art, lipdub)For MV, mention the song and copy and past the lyrics into the posterous article. If you want to go for extra points and make an original song, indicate that.

Twist: (place it anywhere in the storyline and there can be more than one if needed)

Falling Action:

Conclusion:

Explain how your film meets these four preliminary requirements:

1) Originality:

2) Not Predictable:

3) Emotional Response:

4) Something Learned:

Will it be manageable to find the type of actors you need to fit your film and are your locations easily available?

Answer yes, maybe, or no.

After you post it, ask a friend to comment on it. They must write "I think Mr. Heil would approve this because..." or "I don't think Mr. Heil would approve this because..." If they answer wouldn't, think of a new idea and get a new comment.

Each time I give feedback on how to improvement, make changes as soon as you can (within 24 hours at the very latest) and post as the next revision (e.g. #3) and email me the link so that I can respond. If you ever think of new ideas or revisions, add them to this checkpoint.
