Bangkok Slum Ministry, taken by Mr. Heil
Read over the general guidelines of the project to get a glance of the process. You do not have to complete any of it right now but you should start brainstorming a creative storyline for your children's story.
Objective
To use various Adobe programs to create an animated children's story for a child in a third-world country (example below)
Steps
Story
Using the culture and customs of the country you have chosen, write an original story with creative characters. The story should emphasis a moral or spiritual lesson and can be based on a Bible verse. Your story should be long enough to develop your characters and plot but short enough so that it does not become drawn out and boring.
Illustrations
Using shapes, brushes, pencil, and pen tools, draw your illustrations. You may create your own symbols but may not use any pre-made symbols in Illustrator or download vectors to use. To draw your illustrations use as many of the tools from the lessons that you have learned. You may not use live trace or symbols/patterns that are built into Illustrator; you must create your own.
Animation
Use custom animation in Adobe After Effects to make your story come alive.
Music & Audio
Create appropriate music in Garageband and/or use copyright free background music and sound effects for your story to set the mood. Use sound effects when needed. Use custom narrations to narrate each slide of your story. Change your voice according to each of the characters or record it with your friends. Your story should not have text on the backgrounds since you will be narrating the story.
Optional extra credit: create a version of your video in the native language of the country. You may need to find someone from the country living in Seoul to narrate the video for you. Below are some people who may be able to help you.
When you are all done with your project, here are the Submit directions.
