1.Sunrise

Directions

Make sure you have Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe Media Encoder installed on your Macbook. It will take at least 20 minutes to install. While it is installing view the video overview of After Effects (you do not have to take notes on this video).

Watch the video on AE setup (always take notes on Mr. Heil's videos). This video is very important as it has essential helpful tips before beginning.

For this animation assignment, there are several tutorials that you will follow to complete the video assignment. It is important that you have all of your files for this assignment backed up on Google Drive. If you lose your files on your Macbook or your Macbook breaks and you have to have a loaner computer, you will not be allowed extra time to redo the files you lost because you should have had all of your files backed up.

Also, it is important to remember that you are only going to use one After Effects (AE) project file; do not make new AE project files for each tutorial. Just keep adding to the same one.

For each tutorial, take Cornell-style notes while you watch and complete the tutorial in class.

Video example of the completed assignment when finished.

Follow the video tutorial but when it tells you to open a new AI file, open your Sunny Day tutorial and add mountains to it according to the video and then animate a sunrise. Finish the video up until 7:30 when you finish your mountains and then take a screenshot and post to Schoology. Next class we will animate and finish it.

Done!

Next Class

When finished, render as H.264 using Adobe Media Encoder that have downloaded (see the tech office if you don't have it). Media Encoder is faster and easier but another way to save it is using Quicktime (video example). Upload the video to Schoology.

Press cmd + k to open up your AI preferences (below) and click on Scale Strokes & Effects (in blue bottom right). Then when you change the scale of your panda, the stroke will stay proportionate.

When you are finished, it should look similar to the video example but insert your signature photo in the bottom right side of the video like Eric's video and animate your signature photo.
