QU4 Review & Reminders

In your CA book, write a few words or a short phrase to paraphrase each of the blue numbered list below. Take a photo of your CA notes with you in it and post to Posterous and the link to the tutorials spreadsheet.

Most Important Reminders

1. Leave a YT comment on every mouseflip video watched
2. You must email all posts to Posterous if you want to get credit later for them later if you have a grades question.
3. Tag all posts in the subject of the email - Example: ((tag:tutTyping))
4. If you have a grades question, follow the directions at www.bit.ly/cagrade; I check all grade emails & update coupons on the weekend

7. This quarter you can earn up to 40% for late assignments!
8. Coupons can only be turned in during the last day of the week that you meet in class; usually Thur/Fri
9. If you complete HW...and the directions or calendar changes, you do not have to redo the HW and will not be counted off if it is different. I generally try to only change the calendar to help you and give you more time or reduce requirements or provide examples or edit to make things more clear after students ask me questions.
10. Bring your 4GB or higher SD Card & Card Reader in addition to your 4GB Flash Drive & CA Book to class each time; both Video and Design classes.
1. This quarter you can choose your own desktop image but make sure it is appropriate; in my opinion this image reflects a lot about who you are. I hope you choose well.
2. All tasks receive grades and almost all checkpoints and tutorials are given grades but a few may not but doing all of them will most likely help you achieve better quiz and project grades.
3. Most of the time I grade based on the exact due date but sometimes I may grade them a day or so later or don't check the exact date students post it but regardless, I grade everyone's at the same time.
4. So if you see that a student received credit for turning in their work a few hours late, it means that I graded all of the students possibly in the afternoon and accepted all work turned in up to that point. Although, if you email me work that you forgot to post to the spreadsheet, you must have completed it by the exact date and if you are posting blank posts, I need to have a student conference with you after school.

General Reminders & Updates

Forms

Just a reminder, on the class homepage on the right there is an icon like the one above which will lead you to the forms. If you have something big coming up or know you that it would work better for you to complete a certain assignment on a different due date, just fill out the form at least 24-hours in advance of the due date and follow the directions. For projects, it must be four days in advance and approved. If you are absent the day your final project is due, you still must turn it in on time unless you it is for a really good reason (email for approval).

Absent

If you are absent from class, make sure you fill out the absent form the day you are absent if you know you will not be able to turn in the work that is due. If you are ever too sick to complete a form or an assignment or something crazy happens like lose your Macbook or your home Internet is not working, call a classmate (or ask someone to call them for you if you cannot) so they can email me before the due date/time to let me know your situation.

Quiz Absent

Remember, if you miss a quiz, you must make it up the next school day if you are at school. You may take it during AP time, after school, or at the end of lunch. If you cannot come or cannot find me, you must email me immediately during school on the day you need to make it up. You may not take it the next day unless you use a coupon.

Late Work

So this quarter, if you complete an assignment that is for a completion grade (e.g. most checkpoints & tutorials) late, you can still earn a max of 40% (last quarter it was 30%). Also, if you complete a graded assignment late, you can earn up to 40%.

How it works is you email me your assignment when finished but it must be in this format:

Email Subject to me: CA4 Late Flying Fish - Checkpoint: Photo 3

If you accidentally or purposely put Flying Flamingos instead of Flying Fish for an assignment you turned in late, you will not get any credit for the assignment.

In the email, say Howzit! Tell me a new funny joke to make me laugh, and insert the link for the late work.

Coupon Worth

Fourth Quarter Coupon Worth when a coupon is turned in:

• Able to turn in a checkpoint & classwork grade late and receive 100%
• Quiz Can take a quiz late or if completed on time, then plus 30% or 70% minimum grade
• Task - Can turn it in late or +20%
• Lab - plus 20% on one lab grade (not two lab grades) or retake it again on the designated day
• Project - able to turn it in 24 hours late for full credit or +5%

Coupons

Again, only the new coupons will be accepted and the old ones are null. When you receive a coupon, make sure that it has a purple dinosaur stamp on the back and it does not have someone else's name on it. Do not accept coupons from me without the stamp or another name on it...you won't be able to use it.
