Overview

Look through the photographers below and the photographs. You will need to choose one of these photographers and try to take the exact photo. The closer you are to making it look like the original, the higher your grade.

You will need to use Photoshop to edit the photo to make sure it looks more like the early photograph.

Compose the photograph the same way (e.g. same angle, distance, position, etc).

Photographers

1891-1946 Alfred Stieglitz

Make sure the sun is behind the buildings and you may need to use PS to make it look darker.

1901-1986 Jacques Henri Lartigue

The lady is wearing a sleeveless shirt or dress with finger, wrist, and arm jewelry to compliment her heavy makeup. Try to mimic that along with the lighting which you may need PS to help you.

1927-1963 Ansel Adams

Simply take a low angle shot towards a single building with the sky as your backdrop and one tree of any kind in the foreground.

1942-1958 Philippe Halsman

You may either do the lady jumping or the man. Try to match the clothes and the angle of the jump with a white background.

1946-1959 Elliott Erwitt

You will need a dog, dress, high heels, and a sidewalk with buildings to take this shot. Make sure it is at eye level to the dog.

Vivian Maier

An interesting photo that you have to get the right angle and shadow crop while using a coat and hat. Place a similar leaf in the middle.

1967-1977 Jerry Uelsmann

Take a photo of our palms with a black background and use PS to add a photo of any big building in Seoul while dimming the opacity.

1970-1980 Walter Looss

Use the same pose with a basketball hoop behind you and a low angle. Also notice the slanted horizon.

1987-2001 Sally Mann

Use a light source above the girl that casts dark shadows or use PS to make the shadows. Wear a dress.

2000-2007 David LaChapelle

You need a lot of makeup and a lot of expression.
