Lyric MV Idea

A very popular idea from the CA design students last week was to create a lyrical music video like the example below. Spend some time looking through content appropriate music to find a video that would work well for a lyrical music video like the example. The chorus and storyline to the lyrics is the most important in choosing which one to work with. You may not use a song choice if it was already taken below and may have to use a backup if it was taken by the other design class.

You will have the option of creating your lyrical project solo or with a partner if you feel it would be easier and better quality.

Solo: Use GarageBand and cut your song if you want it as long as it is over two minutes.

If someone wants to be complete their work solo; please respect their choice and do not put any pressure on them to be your partner.

When choosing partners, you can only choose partners within the following grade categories in order better match your design and work habits:

    • Any type of A students can be grouped (A+, A, A-)
    • Any type of B or C students can be grouped
    • Any type of D or F students can be grouped

Partner: If you would prefer to work with a partner in the same CA design class, you may do so but must complete the whole song as a group. One partner will do about half of the song and the other partner will do about the other half. Each student will only be graded on their work during the process and final submission and it will not be a group grade. If you choose a partner, both members should look at the lyrics and storyboard and then decide on which is the better song and idea. Use other students' opinions to help you decide.

In the schoology comment below, type Solo or Group (name of partner).

Then in Schoology type how long your song or part of the song will be and the name of the song and artist. For example, if you are a group and doing the second half of the song, type 1:23-3:33. If you are solo, type 2:44 to show about how long your song will be when finished.

Now it is your time to find an example video on YT like the one below to help inspire you and post it to Schoology along with the following:

Post the Youtube link (make sure the link is blue & clickable) to the video (not the official video that may have inapproriate scens) and post a second link as a backup plan in case you don't get it approved. Use the following format:

When finished, ask a friend to look up the lyrics to the video online and carefully look for any inappropriate words or content and as a reply comment, indicate any questionable material. If it all is okay; they should simply indicate that.
