Character Printing

    • Open a new AI document 8in x 8in.
    • Make the protagonist the largest sized character and then add the antagonist and minor character.
    • Make sure you used color accents in your characters (just watch first two minutes video)
    • Create a two-color gradient in the background using subtle light colors (change the opacity if needed) and the Rough Pastels texture below (just watch first two minutes video if you need help).
    • Add a brush right under the character so that it overlaps at their feet and does not look like they are floating (see example)
    • Add each character's name under the brush using a stylish font of your choice but should be thin and adjust the character spacing to make sure it fits
    • Export it as a JPG maximum quality, RGB, 300 dpi (like the example below) and upload your character image to the MF Picasa Album and the Picasa link to the spreadsheet.
  • During class only, after Mr. Heil approves it, print it A4 on glossy paper (from Mr. Heil if you need) and fill the page, then cut the edges but leave an even white border around it

Most of the time the characters are not in the first opening scene as it is only the background setting of the story. If you do have characters in the opening scene, complete the following:

Get the bg1 After Effects animated file from your partner and add your characters to the the scene (if needed) and any objects or background people. When finished, create a Google Drive folder (make sure it is public) called ca1 Your Last Name, First Name (e.g. ca1 Kim, John). Upload your video file to it and name the file bg1c (c stands for characters). Copy the video file Google Drive link and paste it to the spreadsheet.
