Green Tips

Things to know when filming on the green screen:

Boundaries

Do not allow any part of your body or props to extend out of the camera frame like the example on the right (video example).

Wide or Long

You can film either horizontal or vertical. Vertical allows you to get closer to the actor and provide better quality but you need the camera to move with the actor and this sometimes causes shaking of the camera, which you should not have. So be steady! Or film horizontal.

Props

Feel free to use props (but make sure they are not green)

Garb

Use costumes and choose your clothes and accessories wisely.

Great!

The example below is a really good home setup. She borrowed a green screen and there are not many wrinkles, the light is bright enough with even lighting, and it covers who whole body with room to move. It is okay to film the wall background that does not have a green screen because you can crop/cut this part out but make sure your hands don't reach outside of the green.

Dark

Make sure there is plenty of light so that the background is green, not dark green or black. Plus you should not cast shadows on the green screen because that makes a black color.

Wrinkles

Your screen should not be very wrinkled because wrinkles create black as you can see below.
