Now you will go and take a photos with your camera; take one picture for each topic that demonstrates the use of light for each. You may a maximum of three photos inside a building or house; the rest, or all of them must be taken outside.
Before you take the photo, take a picture of you in the scene so that I know you are taking the photo, then take a second photo of the actual photo. Taking a photo of yourself first is optional for summer students.
Name the picture file name of each picture appropriately.
Example: 1sidelight, 2backlight, 3rimlight, etc.
- Side light
- Back light
- Rim light (you don't have to photograph hills)
- Soft light
- Hard light (you don't have to photograph a beach scene)
- Spotlight
Directions for Uploading Pictures
Upload the six actual photos (do not upload the photos with you in them) to your Picasa album and name it "Photograph Light" for the album name. The following are Picasa directions.
- login to your class Gmail
- click on the "Photos" link in the top left of the webpage
- click the "upload" button at the top center of the page in Picasa
- label the name of the album Photo Light Quiz
- click the box "show location on map"
- type the city location of where you took a majority of the pictures (i.e. Itaewon)
- make sure the map pointer is pointing to the correct general location on the map
- leave the public view check box checked, you can change it later if you wish after it is graded
- upload your pictures by selecting the browse buttons
- Copy the album link and paste it to the body of posterous; attach all the photos of yourself in the scene before you took the actual photo and post them to your posterous. Submit the posterous link.
