Typing Tutorial 1 - PRE
For this CA class the standard to pass and get an A+ will be 50 WPM with 95% error minimum. To calculate your grade, take the Net Speed of your Lesson Average and multiply by two (e.g. 45 wpm x 2 == 90% grade).
FingersYour finger placement is very important. If you do not use the correct fingers then it may take more time and you cannot reach your highest potential typing speed. Watch the video tutorial to review fingers on a keyboard. As you type on TypingWeb, it is very important that you look at the drawings of the hands on the right and left of the keyboard and notice which fingers hit which key. You may not look at your keyboard when you type and this slows you down in the long-run anyway.Go to http://www.typingweb.com and click Child's Story. You will type only the first screen but it is not for a grade right now. After the screen pops up like the image on the right, click "stop displaying this popup" and complete the first screen up to 10%. If your total Lesson Average net speed is at least 50 wpm when the teacher checks it, then you are exempt from future typing quizzes and you will automatically get 100% on those future quizzes.
When you are done just keep the score open on your computer screen until the teacher comes by to check it. Work on other class work until then. Do not retake it. You do not need to post to WP but post to your Evernote CA notebook.
