Choose a sport and a team to create an actual Instagram game promo for a game this year or next year.
Then choose a team in the KAIAC blue division for YISS to play against for your promo. You can make up a date and time for the home game. Just make up a day for the game and include the day of the week, month, and day. For the times, have the first game start at 3:30pm for weekday games and Saturday games can start at 9am although swim meets may vary. Times should always be displayed with a.m. or p.m., e.g. 3:30 p.m.
Then research the web and Youtube to find a new Photoshop concept that you want to try. Here are some examples. You can also use the individual profile shots instead of game photos if you prefer. Be aware that if you choose tennis and cut out a player that you cannot cut out the inside of the tennis racket.
Then search https://www.pinterest.com/ or another search for ideas and take a screenshot.
Get your concept approved by Mr. Heil during class and then go to YISSPN.com and click on photos and find one or more photos that you want to use.
If you are creating a winter or spring promo, you can use players from this year or last year. If you are making a promo for a fall game for next year, choose someone that is not a senior who you think will be playing next year.
When you download a photo from Flickr, click on the download button at the bottom right of the photo and download the Original size.
Create a new PS document that is 210mm x 210mm. If your design is good enough, it may be used and also posted on yisspn Instagram with photo credits given to you. Insert the photo(s) into the PS document and cut them out if needed.
Previously you should have already watched the Lightroom editing video tutorial and took notes. Review the video/notes and make edits to the game photo(s) that you will be using.
Next class you will add the designs and finish or you may work ahead.
Later as a separate assignment in second semester, you will animate the promo in After Effects.
