Musical Typing

Image and Typing Above Created by Andy Halter

Record one musical typing on your MacBook Pro (video example). Remember, if you need the piano it is recommended to use the full-size keyboard int the computer lab (image above). Record the screen and fingers playing like the example above while using a phone or camera with high quality with good light (the example video was bad lighting and points off). Also, have the person playing take a selfie showing their face and Garageband like the example below. When finished, upload the video of the person playing the instrument and the photo to Schoology. If the video is too large, upload it to YT and the link to Schoology.

Done!

Part 5

Record another musical typing on an iPad or musical typing on a MacBook Pro but if you did not use an iPad in Part A, then use it for Part B.

Part 6

In GarageBand, name each of your musical typing tracks by instrument and the person who played them. Remember you need at least two musical typing and one physical instrument. Extra points will be given if it sounds really good. Finish composing the final touches of your song and then upload it to your CA SoundCloud account (you previously uploaded your practice GB rap about your name). Post the SoundCloud link to the spreadsheet to submit your final song after you email the link to WP.

Part 7

Create a new folder in your Google Drive called CA Song and upload the following videos and MP3 to it. Make sure to make it public (30 points off if not public).

    • Video of your singer
    • Video of your real instrument
    • Video of your musical typing
    • Video of your music with an iPad
  • MP3 file of your final song created

Part 8

You will be given the class time to complete the compilation video of your song design (example). Follow the video tutorial using your four video files and MP3 you made in Garageband. Upload to YouTube (if your account does not work, upload using a friend's account) and the video to this folder and name the file:

#SongDesign "Name of Song" Cover by Your Last Name, First Name

CA1 Design Folder

CA6 Design Folder

Then write your plan for how you will photograph the singer for the front of the CD booklet and back cover of the CD case. You may use the photography lighting and equipment in the lab if you desire.
