PC Project

Overview

In class you will have an interview of 10 questions about these Computer Parts

(study guide) and each question is worth 10/100 points. I do give partial credit if your answer is partial to being right. You will have the interview with one of the students that sits next to you in class with alternating questions given to each other by the teacher but you will receive an individual project grade, not a group grade. You may not use any notes during the interview.

The questions about the parts can range from the following and your answers can be simple phrase answers (e.g. What does RAM do? Answer: Stores temporary data.)

    • What is the name of this part?
    • What does the function of this computer part?
    • Where is this computer part in the computer?
    • Place this computer part where it belongs in the computer or motherboard.

Here is a video made by one of my students explaining the parts of a computer:

September 14-17 will be used for review and official CPU interviews will begin September 18 and will be taken during class. The student order of the interviews will begin with the back row students and finish with the front row students in class. If all students don't finish during the first class then interviews will resume the following class until finished.

After the interview, if you don't do as well as you had hoped, you can use a coupon to take the interview once more but you will only be given 9 questions with a max of 90%.

You cannot choose to build a computer to replace your interview grade. See CPU Assembly directions.
