Jumper & Teleport

Directions

You will be creating two jumper effects, one jumper and one teleport [example]

1. The Dancer "teleports" into a different part of the same scene. [example]

2. Dancer jumps out of the current location and into a new location. [example]

Use your current project AE file or open a new ae file and import the needed clips to complete the assignment if that is easier. Download and the Purple Smoke and Poof Sound from the Schoology directions and use both. When you insert the purple smoke, it will have a white background with the smoke but in the layer mode properties (choose transparent) & Poof sound effect for emphasis.

Teleport

Follow the tutorial to teleport to a different part of the same frame location [example]. You will probably want to use the turbulence effect just a little (not a lot) so it does not warps your background too much while looking distracting. Make sure you have a full second without the dancer in the scene to give him time to warp and teleport to a different spot in the same location.

Jumper

Your dancer needs to literally jump (points off for not clearly jumping into the air) and disappear with a brief poof of smoke. If you don't have the background without the dancer, you may need to refilm that part. Then keep the dancer out for one full second and then jumps back but into a different location.

After you created the jumper & teleport effect edit for your dance video, take a screenshot showing only the purple (or black) smoke after the dancer teleported out of the scene for both jumper effects and then the smoke screenshot of the teleporter without the dancer (3 screenshots in all). Render the two short video clips and upload the clips to Schoology (not youtube at this time).

Finished!

do not do:

The dancer warps to another part of the composition like the video or use a action jump cut to a different location in the scene or at a different location if you want to be creative.
