Instructions

Part A

Use your normal photo we took in class on the white background. Open it in PS and go to Adjustments > Curves like the image below to bring out the darks and whites and watch the video to adjust your photo curve contrast. After you have finished editing the curves and making any other adjustments to your image, save to Schoology. This should not take you long and should be able to finish it in class. If you finish early, work ahead to Part B as it is challenging and takes time.

Part B

Complete the video tutorial; there are parts of the video where it glitches so here is a student example video of how she completed it which can help show you how to do it.

Make sure that your Photoshop file is horizontal A4 300dpi. When finished you should be able to read your name somewhere on the design but don't make it too obvious.

Upload the full quality JPG (not screenshot) to Schoology and to the bit.ly/1617drive folder (name it ca1.last.first name). If you did not submit your JPGs for any of the other folders in this drive folder, do it.

You will be graded based on the rubric below:

    • Able to distinguish that it is you in the portrait ts
    • Choice of photo lighting and contrast/features of your face 20pts
    • Good use of fonts and your name can be read somewhere on yourself 20pts
    • Well chosen color gradient choice and spread 10pts
    • Completed the Photoshop directions correctly 40pts
