Directions

View some of the cards from a previous class. Make your own creative style (screenshot below) of a snowman, tree, and house but use the video tutorial (to find the wet media brushes, click on the wheel gear icon in brushes like the screenshot below) and choose Legacy Brushes.

If you do not have Wet Media Brushes or want additional brushes, then download and Import Brushes like the screenshot below:

If you use the following imported brush and make the brush size maximum, it will autmatically give you something that looks like snow like the screenshot below:

When finished, post a screenshot to Schoology and then work ahead on Part II of the card.

Then before next class, insert it into an email to your parent(s). In the subject type Christmas Card and bcc mark.heil@yisseoul.org and your WordPress email so it posts to WP.

Start out the email by sharing one of the Winter or Christmas jokes that I have shared in class (e.g. What do you get if you cross an iPad with a Christmas tree? A Pineapple).

Then say how you made a card for them in class with Photoshop just for them!

In the email, tell them you are looking forward to Christmas break and share one thing you would like to do with them and ask them to reply and tell you what they want for Christmas (presents) and what they like about your magazine assignment (attach your finished magazine photo and your friend's magazine if you are on the front cover of it). Tell them what grade you have right now in CA and if you are going to try and maintain or bring it up.

Finally, write Happy Holidays, Your name and write P.S. and tell them what your current letter grade is in the class.
