Dance Lighting

Directions Part A & B

    1. Watch the video tutorial and import the photograph you took of yourself in class on the green screen into your space design.
    2. Watch the video explaining how to use the Puppet Tutorial.
    3. If this happens to you with a white fill when you pen yourself out, watch this video example to see how you can fix it as you need to make sure you select the layer of the photo first.
    1. Then make 10 seconds of creative dance motions with yourself in space. Use each of the TRAPS to animate your outer space background objects and/or yourself dancing.
  1. Download the Space Dance MP3 file from the Schoology assignment and insert it at the top layer of your main composition. Remember that if you want to hear a preview of the music on your AE timeline you have to play it in RAM preview.
  2. In preview window of yourself in AE, change the view mode from Full to Quarter. This will pixelate yourself so that the file size is smaller so that when you RAM preview or spacebar play preview, it will play smoother. Make sure the green bar is shown on your timeline (example below) as this means that you can preview it in real time without lag. When you render or export your video, it will always export at the full quality (not pixelated like the preview), so don't worry.
  1. Using the video tutorial and add an ambient 3D light but use the color white with about a 50% intensity. You also need to have a 3D spotlight on yourself dancing and adjust the Intensity, Cone Angle, & Feather.
  1. Do not make your 3D lighting too dark like the example below:
  1. When finished, export as H.264 and export in Quicktime 720 and upload the file to Schoology.
  2. Done!
