Plan Outline

15mFor your quarter project you will be allowed to choose from one of the three choices but must get it approved:

Choice 1: Documentary - About 80% of students will be approved to make a documentary

Choice 2: Music Video - About 20% of students will be approved but must use a song that is being created by a CA8 Design student

You will have the opportunity to create the video of your choice but your idea must be approved and the main criteria for approval is the following:

  • Unique idea that is not too difficult & long but not too easy & short
  • The video has to be practical and useful for something or somebody
  • Creative
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhnjpet7IcE
  • A couple of the initial guidelines is that it has to be at least 2 minutes (outside of this time has to get prior approval) and it has to all be filmed by you.
  • You will have to take some time to think about it because it can sometimes be tough to get it approved. Your idea does not have to be school related. You have to take all of the video footage and must get prior approval otherwise.
  • Here are some ideas. If you are unsure what you want to do then you can create a music video, short film, or a documentary is always good. If it is good your film may be entered in the film festival.
  • Post
  • Think of three possible video ideas you could make but be sure they follow the bullet guidelines in blue above. Type a short summary of your ideas in a new email to send to Posterous. Number your ideas 1-3 and put the idea you favor the most as #1. Then ask a past or present CA student to comment and give suggestions on which idea they think is best. Make sure they comment before the due date of this checkpoint on challenges you may face with that idea as well as why it would be a good topic.
  • 1b. Refined Idea
  • If you do not have your practical film idea approved yet, email mark.heil@yisseoul.org three new ideas and continue to email back at least once a day until approved. Students will start filming soon so it is important that you get your idea approved and not get behind. Once you have your idea approved, post it to Posterous and post a screenshot of the email reply from Mr. Heil stating it was approved.
