Directions
Using Adobe Illustrator, open a new AI document that is A4 landscape (horizontal) 300ppi and insert your edited singer or musician on the left side of the document and make sure you are looking to the right. If you are not, flip yourself so you are. Then expand yourself on the document so that it becomes a vector and not a picture file.
You will place your first and last name (do not include the instrument name) on the bottom right side of the document and use a drop shadow on the text. Make your first name large and your last name smaller below your first name like the example above.
Read over the example guidelines when making your design. When creating your designs, place each group of shapes in different layers and name them appropriately (e.g. circles, abstract squares, etc). Remember that you will be graded based on how well you use unity, proximity, continuation, and repetition.
Use your font that you chose from the typography tutorial and 3-color scheme (you created a screenshot of your color scheme in the Color Tutorial) for a majority of your colors; you may use other colors sparingly if needed. You can change your whole front and color scheme if you need.
When watching the video tutorials below, you don't have to use the exact shapes, sizes, and colors. These are just guidelines and you can be creative to make your own unique style. Follow the directions in the video tutorials: Part I (start the video at 6:27), Part II, & Part III. When you insert email text into your design, make sure that it is small enough so you cannot read it.
Export as a jpg and use Artboards (Range 1) with maximum quality with a Depth resolution as high 300ppi (not screen) using artboards and post to Schoology.
finished!
do not do:
and create a unique graphic art with quality action photos of the person who played the main external instrument so you can give them credit. Add various elements to invoke action to your picture. Use the unity, proximity, and repetition design principles you have learned.
Follow the directions to create a sloppy painted portrait.
Follow the video tutorials but instead of creating just one subject, you will include all of your band members and you will be included since you performed musical typing.
