Master Shot Edit

Editing your 30-second Video

    1. Open iMovie and name your new Project file Master Shots Example by your classID
    2. Follow the directions to create the title slide
    3. Edit the video that you shot of your storyline with the Master Shot included. Use the iMovie coloring and exposure video settings to improve the video appearance if needed.
    4. Remember that it is only suppose to be about 30 seconds or less but since you are adding titles, do not make it longer than 35 seconds. Do not include credits. Detach the audio in iMovie and mute it (unless your category is dialog, then you have the option to keep it).
    5. Then use the iMovie sounds to add appropriate background music and sound effects, especially ones that would add emphasis to your Master Cut section.
    1. When you are all finished, go to Share > Youtube and enter the following info (you can also refer to the screenshot below):
    2. YT user: moviemastershots
    3. password: ask Mr. Heil this in person at the computer lab; do not email him to get the password (summer students can complete this part when you go to the computer lab next time but upload to vimeo for now and post the link)
    4. Category: Education
    5. Title: Master Shots by classID CAMS12
    6. Description (your credits)
    7. Filmed & Edited by Joe Lee (you)

    12. Export as Large
    13. Uncheck the "Make this movie personal" box so that it is public
    14. If for some reason you get an error when you upload it, take a screenshot of the error and post it and try to upload it in class.
    1. Next, in iMovie go to Share > Export and save it to your desktop and name it Master Shots classID (Large quality). Then go to the file on the desktop, select it, and hit the space bar to preview and play it. Take a screenshot of it and make sure to show the title and time (35 sec or lower).
