worst people are promoted

As a former employee, I can confirm these stories of abuse are 100% correct and probably understate the true situation. There is 50% turnover within the first 2 years because of the horrible systems put together with bubble gum because the people who built them have all left (either to other groups or the company) and because of the personal goals managers create which are totally unachievable and then you're fired (excuse me - you're put on an unachievable PIP (performance improvement plan) from which you will be asked to leave). The very WORST people are always given promotions and then they get to decide your fate.

You may be thinking "this doesn't apply to me because that will happen to the 90% who aren't top performers." WRONG. You are exactly who they love to use to get the real work done and who they will burn out the quickest to avoid promoting you ahead of them.
