Falsified records

Just got word from a former Amazonian colleague that the company has two different dates for the end of their employment there. Gee, I wonder why that would be? It couldn’t possibly be because the company lies to avoid liability for breaking federal law, could it?

Yes, that’s exactly why they did it. They got rid of someone who had the guts to stand up to their abuse and discrimination and say they don’t know what they’re doing. So the Amazonian goes on a medical leave of absence, they deny the accommodations they need when returning, and then when they do return, they terminate him/her for some BS reason that doesn’t even pass the smell test.

But the OSHA 300 logs the company is required to keep for the feds is redacted starting on an earlier date, and the reason they gave is because that’s when their employment ended. I don’t see how any company can have two different dates for somebody’s employment ending, so I think that’s a big problem.

So for any other terminated former Amazonians, request the OSHA 300 logs for the years you were there and see if anything was redacted before you were actually terminated. If it’s been 300 days or less and you believe you were discriminated against due to age, disability, retaliation, or a refusal to accommodate your disability, you can still file a charge with the EEOC, but you need to do it quickly.
