Pay not kept confidential

A finance co-worker let me know that she knew exactly what I was being paid. This would have been considered of a severe breach of confidentiality by any other employer I have worked for in the past. When I mentioned the incident to a former boss the only question was "so this employee was fired?" That's right though, this is Amazon - the co-worker was promoted and my manager let me know that they were "not sure why I was so upset over the incident." But, of course, I was "welcome to escalate to HR." Nice. It is well known that to do so is career suicide there.

From that point on it was only a matter of time until I left. Good Riddance.Â
