Daily harassment

In the last 2 weeks, I have heard 4 different people mention leaving Amazon primarily because they are sick of the racial and sexual harassment they suffer on an almost daily basis. Good for them, bad for Amazon. The sexual harassment is felt mostly by women for sure, but the racism is experienced by everyone. No matter how many times this issue is raised, it doesn't really change anything because HR always backs so many bad managers.

There are so many Amazon employees, so experiences are incredibly varied. Some are racist, closed minded and incredibly rude. The question whether this is increasing or decreasing as Amazon grows.

Amazon claims to hire the best, but they don't treat their employees like they are the best. If you compare Google or Netflix or Twitter culture to Amazon's, you see that the others hire the best, but also treat their staff well. I'm sure Amazon can hire some of the best, but they aren't able to retain them due to their broken culture. Eventually, this culture will work against them as fewer top people accept their offers.
