Angry Locals

When you start, you think look at the size of this company, there must be a lot of work for us to do here. I think we all had that false sense of security to begin with. It just didn't prove to be the case. It was very disappointing. All of us locals who were excited when Amazon came to town are now very angry.

You can’t rely on Amazon for work. You can show up at 7am and then be sent home at 8am. Or be told at the end of a day not to show up the next day. Worst of all, almost all us employees lost their jobs after 12 weeks without prior notice, in order for Amazon to miss out on government benefit deadlines for full-time staff. Then they're hired again and then laid off again after 12 weeks, sometime repeatedly. They would cheat people on vacation pay they legally earned.

They are mostly worried about their reputation in the press rather than worrying about workers. Amazon is concerned about being seen in a bad light and not much else. They don’t actually care about abusing employees, just that it not be made public. None of us locals want to work at Amazon anymore, so now they're bussing people in from other towns. They are really an evil corporation.
