Meeting the quota

It's been 3 years since I left Amazon but I still get nightmares. Unless you are networked with senior management, you are just the scapegoat for your team. They let you slog through hard work for endless hours, yet nobody cares. At the end of the day, our boss (who is more concerned about his own rating and promotion) would say "I don't understand what you are working on. Please send me a detailed list of your work." Such micromanagement is common in this company and it's not even honest but rather just to find blame for failures.

Additionally, gender diversity is a joke here. During my team at Amazon, my manager never wants women in the team since he doubts their qualifications because he is sexist. The reality is that he discriminates against anyone who is not his friend. He hires many people less qualified and with no relevant experience and fires the rest of us to meet his quota for poor performers being fired.

When I presented this whole scenario to my senior manager, he did nothing about it. Rather than keeping my identity anonymous, he told everything to my manager. My tenure with Amazon was pure torture, like actually being in hell.

I will never recommend anyone to work Amazon EVER.
