Warning about Pivot

I am a former Amazon employee and I want to warn everyone about the Pivot program.

I was put into the Pivot program and given three options: challenge being in the program, leave with a severance package, or work with the career ambassador to improve my performance and get a smaller severance package if it doesn't work out. I chose the leave option because it was a higher amount.

After leaving Amazon, I applied for unemployment benefits and I was rejected because Amazon told them I left under a voluntary resignation. This makes zero sense because I was terminated as part of the Pivot program.

Amazon plays games with this and doesn't give workers enough information to make the right decision. The entire Pivot program is explained on a single piece of paper and Amazon uses Pivot to disguise a layoff as a resignation to avoid unemployment taxes even though I've paid my share of these taxes for my entire time as an employee.

Everyone who is on Pivot or might go on Pivot needs to be warned about this!
