Amazon will pay in the long run

Amazon India is the worst place to work. I worked with them for close to 2 years.

Amazon India is full of politics with inexperienced managers who are incompetent and have no prior management experiences. Our senior manager made his own rules for how to run our org, then broke his own rules at his own convenience to get things done the way he wanted.

All Amazon managers treated software engineers as their personal slaves and expected them to work 24 hours per day flawlessly. If you asked your manager about your career growth, they always made a lot of promises to make you work even harder, but they never fulfilled their promises even if you exceeded all your goals. The managers are very poor at project planning. With this approach, the managers took all the credit if thing went well. But if things did not go well, they blamed someone else for the miss and put them on a PIP. Many hard worker engineers go into depression because of working with these sort of people and dealing with their politics among them. The longest career managers at Amazon has one skill: generating false data and convincing others that performance reviews will be based on this data.

To summate: Amazon India should never be in your interview list. If senior management doesn't look into these problems, the whole company will pay for this mistake in the long run.
