Playing politics all the time

Amazon is much worse than Google, FaceBook, Twitter, etc. Here is what I experienced:

- Most of the good engineers left after a short time. Around 50% of my team left after 1 year or less.

- All our projects were boring because writing code is not your job. Your job is solving stupid tickets and never being allowed to fix the real root cause because it won't help your boss get promoted.

- Management was chaos because they were just playing politics all the time and never actually rewarding the people who got the work done.

- We took a long time to learn how to set up environments, etc. Unfortunately, those skills are useless in other tech companies.
