Getting Rid of the Competition

We had the absolute best manager for our group as she was clearly way ahead of her peers in terms of hiring, delivering projects, getting people promoted, etc. The rest of the managers in our org saw her as a threat since they weren't as good at their jobs, so they all conspired to give her bad peer feedback at review time. They also lied about her to all of the senior leaders who would be in the OLR where she would be ranked and rated. Shortly after that, she was fired due to "failing to earn the trust of her peers", even though she was much better at her job than any other manager I've worked for at Amazon or anywhere else. I know she tried to escalate the unfairness of her review, but the old boys club running our org just treated her like crap. It's really sad that Amazon rewards bad managers who try to manipulate the review process rather than rewarding people like her who actually do an awesome job.
