problems are due to growth

Believe it or not, there's an internal website that gives you stats on how many people have come and gone during your time. It's really depressing.

When I first started 6 years ago, it seemed different. The problems ultimately came from growth. Amazon grew way beyond it's ability to hire good people. I wasn't very high on the chain, but everyone between me and Jeff Bezos switched out several times. A new manager then another new manager. One wants it done differently and new metrics. Now we want the old metrics back. Then we want both metrics.

Amazon has basically become a jumping point to a real career. There are a very small number of  lifers and there are the other 90% that leave within 2 years. The turnover is so high. Each dumbass who replaced the last dumbass wants to change something to make their mark. Back and forth. Back and forth.

I was fine for half of my time at Amazon, but the last 3 years were one big giant duct tape BS fix for everything. I could go on and on. You have to sell your soul to get a raise. No one with any ethics gets ahead, no matter how hard you work. Looking back, I'm so glad that I finally left that crap hole. Amazon is a soul-burner
